What an interesting ride it’s been so far.
I wanted to check in and give you a bit of an update, since I’ve been a bit remiss in posting to this blog. (Ya, think, Mulhall?) I’ll try to be much better about that going forward!
I released Geddy’s Moon on February 20th exclusively on Kindle, and it is now available…well, almost everywhere! Digital versions are available on Kindle, Nook, iBooks, Kobo, Sony, and other formats, and the hardcover and trade paperback versions are available on Amazon and BN.com; plus, you should be able to special order them at most major bookstores.
On May 4th the official hardcover and trade paperback book release party for Geddy’s Moon took place at Bellavino Wine Bar in Westlake Village, California. It was an absolute ton of fun. There were appetizers, a wine tasting, a live band, and delicious desserts provided by the wonderful folks at Kneady Bakery in Los Angeles. Over 220 people turned out, and if you were among them, I want to thank you for being a part of such a fantastic evening.
Then, this last weekend, I was in Las Vegas attending the Amazing Comic-Con. And, man, did I have fun there too! It was amazing to be with the geeks, the nerds, and the fan-boys (and girls); in other words, I was home. We had a great booth, the attendance was fantastic, and not only was I able to sign copies of Geddy’s Moon, but I got to meet some really cool people in person (people whom I’d only known online from Facebook and Twitter). Plus, I feel like I made some new friends. (NitroJill and Mario and Monica – I’m looking at you guys!) I absolutely love these events, not because I sell an amazing amount of books (trust me, that really isn’t it), but because I get to interact with people who are passionate about the same types of things that I’m passionate about. And that’s just cool.
In other news, this week saw the 200th review of Geddy’s Moon on Amazon. (Thank you, Iceygod, for that 5-star review!) I had no idea going into this how important those reviews are. (Readers, definitely support your favorite authors by reviewing and recommending their books!) I’ve been super fortunate that people are reacting to Geddy’s Moon with such favor; the book is continually ranking high on Amazon’s Top Rated charts, and for that I can’t thank you enough.
And perhaps my most favorite thing in a long while happened this last Thursday. I received a beautiful piece of fan art from a woman in England. She’s been a wonderful supporter of the book for some time now, and the fact that she would take her time to produce something so intricate and beautiful, the fact that something I wrote inspired her to do so, well it really blows me away. I had tears in my eyes when I saw it. I’m humbled and so thankful to her. Donna, thank you a million times! I just got home from picking out a frame for it and I can’t wait to see it come back, all framed up, matted and under glass. (Yes, I will post a picture of it, I promise, but since the art could potentially be considered a spoiler for those who haven’t yet read Geddy’s Moon, I’m going to wait until I have a new section on the website.)
Lastly, I’m very excited to be back hard at work on not one but two new novels, along with a few short stories. There are no estimated release dates yet, but I’m really hoping to have something new out this year. I’ll keep you updated about my progress.
Well, that’s the update. There’s much more to come.
I love hearing your comments, so please ask me questions, correct my grammar, make fun of my outfit, whatever you’d like. You can do it here, on my Facebook page, or on Twitter.
Until next time!
